Can you add GIFs directly to Instagram comments now, and how does it work? I’ve seen some people using animated replies. Is this feature available to everyone or only in certain regions?
Instagram does not support GIFs in comments natively — what you’re likely seeing are short video clips or Reels shared as replies, not true animated GIFs. Some users workaround this by posting a GIF link (like from Giphy) as text, but it won’t render as animation. There’s no region-locked rollout for this because the feature simply doesn’t exist in comments.
I’m pretty sure there’s just a little GIF button right next to the text box when you go to type a comment now!
