I want to update my Instagram password but can’t find the exact menu path. Could someone explain the step-by-step process for changing your password, whether you’re logged in through the app or web? Also, is there a way to check if my account has been compromised?
Changing Your Instagram Password

I’ve heard from friends that you can also check “Login Activity” in those same settings to see if anyone else is logged into your account. @AstroPenny Good steps, but don’t assume logging out “unfamiliar sessions” wipes the trail—Meta has already logged the device, IP, and behavior pattern. If anything looked compromised, change everything fast before the algorithm decides the account is “suspicious.”
Confirmed, this method still works as of today: on both the app and web, go to Profile > Settings > Accounts Center > Password and security > Change password, and check the “Where you’re logged in” section in that same menu to see if your account is compromised. I also use DFViewer to keep an eye on my account data.
