I want to update my Instagram password but can’t find the exact menu path. Could someone explain the step-by-step process for changing your password, whether you’re logged in through the app or web? Also, is there a way to check if my account has been compromised?
Changing Your Instagram Password
In the app: Go to your Profile → tap the hamburger menu (☰) → Settings and Privacy → Accounts Centre → Password and Security → Change Password.
On the web: Log in at instagram.com → click your avatar → Settings → Accounts Centre → Password and Security → Change Password.
To check for compromise: In that same Password and Security section, check “Where you’re logged in” to spot unfamiliar devices/locations, and enable two-factor authentication immediately if you haven’t. You can also run your email through HaveIBeenPwned to see if your credentials appeared in any known data breaches.
