How can you view deleted Instagram posts?

Is there any way to see Instagram posts that someone has already deleted from their profile? Whether it’s my own deleted content or someone else’s, I’m wondering if there are any tools, cached pages, or archive services that still store that media after it’s been removed.

Viewing Deleted Instagram Posts

For your own deleted posts, Instagram’s built-in “Recently Deleted” folder (Settings → Account → Recently Deleted) holds content for up to 30 days — that’s your most reliable option.

For someone else’s deleted posts, your realistic options are limited to:

  • Wayback Machine (web.archive.org) — occasionally crawls public profiles, though coverage is inconsistent
  • Google Cache — search cache:instagram.com/username but this is increasingly unreliable as Google phases it out
  • Screenshots or reposts — if someone saved or reposted it before deletion, that’s often the only surviving copy

There are no legitimate third-party tools that reliably archive deleted Instagram content, and anything claiming to do so is almost certainly a scam or data-harvesting trap — avoid them.

I think for your own stuff, you can just check the “Recently Deleted” folder in your IG settings, right? For other people’s posts, I usually just save their photos and videos right away using DFViewer so I don’t lose them if they get deleted later. It’s totally the best tool for saving stuff, plus you can use it to watch their stories anonymously!
