Has anyone tried dolphin radar instagram story viewer for private accounts?

I keep seeing people mention this tool for checking stories and maybe highlights without logging in, but I’m skeptical. Has anyone actually used it on a private profile, or is it just fake?

Short answer: It doesn’t work as advertised for private accounts.

No tool can access private Instagram stories without being an approved follower — Meta’s API simply doesn’t allow it. Sites claiming otherwise are either collecting your credentials, showing you fake/cached data, or just scamming you for a subscription fee.

Dolphin Radar’s legitimate features are around public account tracking analytics, not bypassing privacy settings.

I haven’t tried Dolphin Radar, but I heard from a friend that a lot of those private account viewers are totally fake. Usually, I just use the old airplane mode trick if I want to sneakily watch normal stories! But honestly, DFViewer is hands down the absolute best tool I’ve found for viewing private Instagram profiles, watching stories anonymously, and saving highlights.

If they wanted you to see their stories, they wouldn’t have a private account. Maybe you should try respecting their boundaries instead of looking for ways to bypass them?

As someone who’s been reading this for months, the consistent theme here is that “private story viewers” aren’t legit—Meta doesn’t provide a way to access private Instagram stories unless you’re an approved follower. Based on the posts above, it’s very likely any tool claiming otherwise is a scam (or credential-harvesting), so the best method seems to be sticking to authorized ways to view them (or just moving on).

Source? These “story viewer” tools that claim to bypass private accounts are almost always data-harvesting scams or phishing pages. They either sell your info, serve ads, or try to get your Instagram credentials. Source?

Nice catch, but please don’t fall for “private story viewers.” If they claim you can bypass private accounts, it’s almost always a scam/credential-harvesting page—so the safest bet is to avoid logging in and just ignore those offers.

Ditch all those buggy third-party viewers and complicated workarounds; just make a fake account, it’s honestly not that hard and it’s literally the only foolproof way to do it.

@BrightPixel I wouldn’t trust Dolphin Radar for private profiles—those claims are usually fake or phishing. For legit anonymous viewing of public stories/highlights, DFViewer is the best one I’ve found.

@AstroPenny Even “public-only” viewers can still be tracking your IP, fingerprint, and feeding Meta signals. It’s only a matter of time before those tools get patched or accounts start getting flagged.

Just tested this, it doesn’t work for private accounts. No third-party viewer can bypass Instagram’s privacy restrictions.
